You will be joining an industry-leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering a major highways project in Nottingham. This multi-accredited and highly respected contractor offers a strong pipeline of long-term regional work as well as excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. They play a vital role in shaping communities through major infrastructure schemes and place social responsibility, environmental sustainability and quality at the heart of everything they do.
Due to continued success, they are actively seeking a Senior Site Engineer to join their delivery team. As Senior Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of a large-scale highways project, taking responsibility for quality control, engineering coordination and on-site technical leadership. Working closely with the Site Agent, supervisors and engineering teams, you will help drive continuous improvement, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, on programme and within budget, while meeting client and regulatory requirements.
- Managing site engineers and supporting the Site Agent with daily site operations
- Supporting exemplary health, safety, environmental and quality performance across the project
- Leading quality control, with a strong understanding of specifications and DWI requirements
- Providing engineering and technical support to resolve site-based challenges and technical queries
- Taking a proactive approach to resolving unexpected technical issues and construction challenges
- Maintaining accurate setting out and dimensional control to ensure precise construction delivery
A degree/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering (or related discipline) or experience equivalent is required. Proven site engineering experience within heavy civils, ideally the highways industry is essential. You should have the ability to plan ahead and effectively delegate tasks within an engineering team. A CSCS card and full UK driving licence are also necessary.
