Taunton, Somerset UK Active SC clearance is essential.

Candidates must already hold active SC clearance, and applications without it cannot be considered.

Please include the name of your sponsor and your clearance reference ID in your CV.

Your new organisation Some organisations write strategy.

This one builds it.

A UK public-sector body with a sharp corporate plan has set up a dedicated portfolio office to turn ambition into working capability.

Its change portfolio is bold and technically demanding, and it answers directly to senior leadership.

Right now, a flagship data platform is waiting for the right person to take the wheel, put robust data governance around it and drive it into everyday use.

Your new role You'll own a flagship data platform delivery from day-one mobilisation through to transition and end-project evaluation, with scope, schedule, cost, risks and dependencies firmly in your hands.

You'll be trusted to make the call, from signing off work packages to escalating when it matters.

You'll engage everyone from the executive committee to suppliers and industry partners, winning the resources you need and resolving technical, commercial and contractual challenges before they slow you down.

The pace will shift sharply between phases, and your mission is to land a solution that meets every standard and becomes part of daily working life.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential: a strong, evidenced track record of delivering complex data platform or data transformation projects, from mobilisation through to transition.

You've also turned data governance requirements into practical plans, roles, controls and ways of working that people actually follow.

You understand modern cloud data platforms, including data engineering, integration, security and platform governance.

You set up your approach, delivery plan, governance and assurance arrangements fast.

You also lead with confidence across business, data, architecture, technology, security and supplier communities.

You read a new environment quickly, give clear direction and keep momentum high.

When you leave, the organisation has a governed, assured platform it can run with total confidence.

Who we're not looking for We're not looking for a heavy data techy who would rather build the platform than lead the delivery.

Nor do we need a pure project administrator who tracks plans but doesn't drive decisions, or a governance theorist who writes frameworks that never leave the page.

What we do require is a confident, hands-on delivery leader.

You're technically fluent enough to challenge architects and engineers, and commercially sharp enough to manage suppliers.

You can also explain complex data topics clearly to senior stakeholders, and you get things over the line.

What you'll get in return Twelve months in Taunton at £650 per day, with a front-row seat on how a complex data platform becomes part of everyday life.

You'll work directly with senior decision-makers on a high-profile delivery and leave a mark that lasts.

What you need to do now The best contracts don't stay open for long.
