The Role
As a Credit Risk Specialist, you will serve as a subject matter expert, working closely with stakeholders to define and refine credit risk strategies for new business acquisition and portfolio management. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining risk standards, governance processes, and ensuring data-driven decision-making at the core of our lending products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective credit risk strategies for SME lending.
- Maintain credit risk standards, procedures, and governance processes.
- Provide expert risk insights on business proposals, identifying opportunities and mitigating risks.
- Shape and maintain portfolio risk appetite metrics to support lending decisions.
- Lead the creation of new lending products and customer journeys, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Product, Distribution, IT, and Second Line Credit Risk teams.
- Produce insightful portfolio MI, delivering actionable performance updates to governance forums.
- Ensure compliance with sector-wide regulatory standards.
Skills & Qualifications:

- Proven ability to communicate credit risk insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficient in statistical programming languages (ideally SAS).
