Your new company Hays Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation based in Armagh for a Financial Accountant.

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) seeking their first move from practice into industry, or looking to further develop their accounting career within a supportive and collaborative finance team.

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will take ownership of the accounting function for a key business division while gaining broad exposure across financial reporting, operational finance, budgeting, forecasting and team supervision.

Your new role As Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in the month-end process, ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining strong financial controls across the division.

Key responsibilities will include: Financial Reporting & Month-End

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Production and review of trial balances
  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting month-end close activities
  • Assisting with year-end audits and statutory reporting
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information
  • Operational Finance
  • Payroll processing and oversight
  • Managing sales and purchase ledger activities
  • Supervising invoicing and day-to-day transactional processes
  • Supporting cash flow management and payment runs
  • Maintaining robust financial controls and procedures
  • Team Leadership
  • Supervising and supporting a small finance team
  • Reviewing work for accuracy and completeness
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements

  • Part-qualified or newly qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant
  • Experience preparing trial balances and financial reports
  • Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using finance systems
