Hays Engineering are delighted to be partnering with a leading and innovative manufacturing business based in the Banbridge area to recruit a Design Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer with 2-3 years of industry experience who is looking to take the next step in their design career within a fast-paced and supportive engineering environment. Working as part of an established engineering team, you will be involved in the design, development and continuous improvement of products from concept through to manufacture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings using CAD software
  • Support the development of new products and enhancements to existing designs
  • Liaise with production, procurement and quality teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements
  • Produce BOMs, technical documentation and engineering change requests
  • Assist with design calculations, product testing and validation activities
  • Investigate and resolve design-related issues throughout the production process
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on quality, cost and efficiency

What We're Looking For

  • Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering or a related discipline
  • 2-3 years of experience in a design engineering role within manufacturing
  • Proficiency using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
