Role Overview
The Credit Controller will support the effective management of customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of payments and adherence to internal credit policies.
The position requires close collaboration with sales teams and senior management, alongside proactive engagement with a high‐volume customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Account setup - Opening new customer accounts and conducting credit checks.
- Credit limit management - Setting, reviewing and monitoring credit limits in line with policy.
- Customer relationship management - Building strong relationships to support timely payment recovery.
- Payment plans - Negotiating and agreeing structured payment arrangements.
- Dispute resolution - Investigating and resolving disputed balances.
- Enquiry handling - Responding promptly to internal and external queries.
- Record maintenance - Maintaining accurate and compliant customer account files.
- Reporting - Providing credit and accounts information to senior management.
- Team contribution - Supporting a positive, collaborative team environment.
Person Specification
- Credit control experience within a high‐volume customer environment.
- Fast‐paced working ability with strong organisational skills.
- IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
- Communication skills - confident, clear and professional.
- Initiative - able to work independently and within a busy team.
- Sector knowledge (advantageous but not essential).
