Hays NI are pleased to be working on a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading highways and infrastructure team on a contract basis, working through Hays. This role supports the delivery of road surfacing and highways maintenance schemes, with work carried out primarily from regional depots and some flexibility for hybrid working.
In this assignment, you will provide commercial support across a portfolio of surfacing projects, ensuring accurate cost estimation, preparing client applications, developing competitive quotations, managing change processes, and maintaining strong financial control. Your work will help ensure successful project outcomes through robust commercial governance and effective client engagement.
Projects typically range up to £10 million, requiring precise cost management and a proactive approach to contract administration. Build and maintain effective working relationships with highways clients to support change management and issue resolution. Work closely with operational and finance teams to ensure full project cost control, including forecasting, CVR reporting, WIP management, and budget oversight. Prepare accurate monthly valuations, client applications, and commercial reports.
- Over 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within highways, surfacing, or civil engineering.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying.
- Experience producing CVRs and managing project financials.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible part-time workload.
