About the Role
Hays Education is recruiting for SEN Teaching Assistants / Learning Support Assistants to support learners within a specialist education setting from September 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who have special educational needs (SEN), helping them access education, build confidence, and develop key life skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to learners with SEN
- Support students with additional learning, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Assist in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities
- Support learners with personal care where required
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and wider support teams
What you'll need to succeed
- Have previous experience supporting learners with SEN
- Be confident and comfortable supporting with personal care when needed
- Demonstrate patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
