Your new role
As a Cost Accountant, you\'ll be at the heart of financial planning and analysis, supporting both finance and manufacturing operations. Your core responsibility will be maintaining and reviewing production cost activities at the Dumfries site, while also contributing to European forecasting processes. You\'ll analyse costs and production variances, assist in profitability reviews, prepare detailed reports, and support month-end and year-end closing activities. This role also includes SAP-based stock valuation updates, aged stock reviews, and daily cash postings for UK and European entities.You\'ll work cross-functionally with teams across regions, helping to develop annual operating plans and drive financial accuracy. Your insights will directly influence decision-making and operational efficiency, making this a key role in the UK\'s financial reporting.
What you\'ll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you\'ll bring:
- A Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Part Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- At least 2 years\' experience in finance, ideally within FP&A.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- A proactive, self-directed mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with SAP (desirable) and a collaborative approach to working with stakeholders at all level
- You\'ll also demonstrate key competencies such as attention to detail, data manipulation, process development, and the ability to manage complexity in a dynamic environment.
