Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support financial operations and ensure accurate reporting across multiple projects. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with experience in construction or manufacturing and a strong foundation in project accounting. The Senior Accountant will handle complex reconciliations, assist with financial analysis, and collaborate closely with project managers and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Perform job costing and project accounting, ensuring accurate tracking of budgets and expenses.
- Prepare financial statements, variance analyses, and assist with forecasting.
- Support internal controls and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with project managers to monitor financial performance and provide insights.
- Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Managing cash flow and forecasting.
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance to evaluate overall company performance and analyze key performance indicators.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in construction or manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of project accounting and job costing.
- Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Salary & Benefits
Salary Range: CA$75,000 – CA$90,000 annually. Full benefits package including health, dental and vision care. RRSP with company match. 2 weeks vacation.
