Your new company Hays Engineering are working with our client in Cookstown who are looking to add a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to their team due to growth. You will be joining a long‑established engineering organisation, recognised for providing innovative, industry‑leading solutions to clients across the UK, Ireland and international markets. This company has built a strong reputation for technical excellence, quality workmanship and a commitment to delivering reliable, future‑focused projects.
Your new role:
- Support the full project lifecycle, from initial specification and design through to installation and commissioning.
- Design MCC and Switchgear electrical system architecture, specifying equipment such as motors, MCCs, instrumentation, and PLCs.
- Produce MCC and Switchgear electrical schematics, installation diagrams, and equipment schedules.
- Deliver electrical designs for power, water, and wastewater projects in line with client requirements and relevant standards.
- Liaise and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with ISO quality and environmental procedures, as well as all health and safety regulations.
What you'll need to succeed:
- An electrical/electronic engineering qualification.
- Experience using AutoCAD/E Plan or similar.
- Previous electrical design experience desirable.
