Your new role
Your new role working as a Commercial Account Handler means you will be responsible for the administration of clients’ insurance requirements, dealing with clients from inception. You will be responsible for handling general enquiries, renewals, mid-term adjustments, obtaining quotations and marketing as well as providing support to the Department Manager. You will deal with a mix of business to include Commercial Insurances (SME), such as Commercial Combined, Office insurance, Liabilities, Professional Indemnity, Motor Fleet, Charities and Clubs. Handling new and existing SME clients’ insurance requirements including handling general enquiries, advising clients, processing SME renewals, mid-term adjustments and marketing of risks.
Liaising with Underwriters and clients dealing with the negotiation of terms, ensuring the accurate preparation of renewal and cover confirmation documents, checking insurers policy documents for breadth of cover and policy conditions. Other duties will include the preparation of and issuing policy documentation for risks underwritten under Binding Authorities. Utilising E-Trade systems and Premium Finance platforms, liaising with insurers / underwriters and assist to resolve accounting queries. Credit Control activities as required.
What you’ll need to succeed
Your previous experience as a Commercial Account Handler dealing with SME Commercial risks within an Insurance Broker or Lloyd’s Broker, will contribute to your success in securing this role. You will conduct the role in a professional manner at all times, adhering to Company policies and procedures, and those of relevant third parties, such as Lloyds of London. You will also have the ability to communicate with colleagues and other professional at all levels, both verbally and written, as well as having great IT skills. Cert CII or working towards your qualification is preferred
