Your new company is a well-established and growing wholesale insurance broker with a strong presence across the commercial insurance market. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Wholesale Commercial Account Executive to join their team in a role combining hands-on broking, relationship management and new business development.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused insurance professional who enjoys developing relationships, generating new business and placing a varied portfolio of wholesale commercial risks across the London and company markets.

Working as a Commercial Account Executive, you will provide day-to-day commercial insurance broking services while taking an active role in generating and converting new business opportunities. You will manage enquiries from initial submission through to placement, including reviewing risks, obtaining quotations, negotiating terms, presenting options, securing client instructions and arranging appropriate cover.

A key focus of the position will be looking after an existing book of business and developing new business through both internal referrals and external relationships. You will establish strong relationships with colleagues across the wider business to identify suitable commercial and London Market placement opportunities, while also proactively developing relationships with retail brokers, introducers and commercial clients.

You will develop and maintain strong relationships with insurers, Lloyd’s and London Market underwriters, strengthening existing trading relationships while identifying opportunities for new insurer agencies, facilities, capacity and market access. The position will involve placing a range of commercial risks, including property, liability and commercial combined business, as well as more specialist and non-standard risks where appropriate.

You will maintain an accurate pipeline of new opportunities and provide regular updates on referrals, quotations, conversions, new business income and market development activity. You will also work closely with account handling and operational colleagues to ensure documentation, processing, renewals and ongoing client service are delivered to a high standard. This is specifically a broking and business development position and does not involve delegated underwriting authority.

You will need previous experience working as an Account Executive within the Wholesale market and have a good understanding of commercial insurance products, ideally including property, liability and commercial combined risks, together with knowledge of insurer markets, Lloyd’s and commercial broker distribution.

You will be confident developing relationships with insurers, underwriters and brokers and will have the ability/want to create new relationships and turn them into revenue-generating opportunities. Strong sales, negotiation and communication skills are essential. You will be comfortable identifying opportunities, presenting risks to insurers, negotiating terms and seeing new business opportunities through from initial enquiry to successful placement.

You will be proactive, commercially minded and well-organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities independently while maintaining accurate records and providing a consistently high level of service. Relevant CII qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential for an individual with strong market experience.

You will receive a generous package of up to 80,000 d.o.e plus bonus, plus excellent pension and benefits. You will receive support from directors. You will also work within a like-minded team who offer full training and support. You will be joining an established and ambitious insurance business where you can play an integral role in contributing directly to its continued growth.

This is an opportunity to combine your technical commercial broking experience with your relationship-building and business development skills, while developing relationships across the London Market and expanding your network of brokers, insurers and underwriters.
