Part Time 6 month FTC Bookkeeper Office based in Clacton. 25 to 30 hours per week.

A well-established organisation is seeking a highly organised Bookkeeper to join its finance team on a 6-month maternity cover basis. This is a varied, hands-on role in a busy accounts function, ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage HMRC payments and VAT returns
  • Process purchase and sales ledger transactions
  • Reconcile supplier statements, bank accounts, credit cards, and ledgers
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping and financial records
  • Prepare journals, month-end processes, and assist with management accounts
  • Handle payroll-related admin (BrightPay/BrightHR)
  • Manage foreign currency payments and fixed assets
  • Support audit preparation
  • Provide cover and guidance for Accounts Assistant duties
About You:
  • Proven experience in a similar accounts role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting processes and compliance
  • Experience with Sage 50, BrightPay, and BrightHR
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

  • AAT (or equivalent) preferred
