Hays is delighted to be supporting a well-established independent accountancy practice in Colchester to support them in the recruitment of an Accounts Senior. The firm is recognised for its personal approach, strong client relationships and consistently high standard of service.
Your new role:
- Manage a varied workload across accounts preparation, tax and bookkeeping, while acting as a trusted point of contact for a portfolio of owner-managed business clients.
- Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies in line with FRS 102 Section 1A and FRS 105.
- Draft the associated tax computations.
- Provide bookkeeping services and respond to clients' bookkeeping queries.
- Build strong working relationships and act as a key point of contact for clients.
- Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients.
- Provide practical support on a range of accounting and business matters.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an accurate, responsive and high-quality service.
What you'll need to succeed:
- You will be an experienced accountancy practice professional who is comfortable managing competing deadlines and communicating directly with clients.
- ACA, ACCA or AAT qualified, or qualified by experience.
- Previous experience gained within an accountancy practice.
- Strong experience preparing accounts for a range of owner-managed businesses.
- A confident, professional and client-focused communication style.
- Good working knowledge of Xero.
- The ability to work independently, organise your workload and meet multiple client deadlines.
- Experience of QuickBooks, Sage, Excel, Dext or CCH would be advantageous.
