Your new company

My client, a leading global financial services organisation based in the heart of Liverpool city centre, is seeking a professional Client Billing Manager to join their team on a 16-month maternity contract. You will be joining the Pershing EMEA team. Pershing provides a broad range of financial business solutions to investment banks, broker-dealers, wealth managers, financial planners and advisers across EMEA.

Your new role

The position is being offered full-time, Monday to Friday, with a hybrid model in place. You will be required to work from the offices 3 days per week. You will be required to manage a team of 4 staff members within the Liverpool office and also assist with an offshore team which also has 4 members of staff.

Some of your duties will include but are not limited to:

  1. Participate in the preparation of billing of clients.
  2. Understand all processes and procedures and be able to undertake all tasks wherever necessary.
  3. Suggest efficiencies and improvements and be able to advise on best practice.
  4. Recruit, direct, motivate and develop staff, maximising their individual contribution, professional development and ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team.
  5. Manage the daily process workflow within the team and align team resources accordingly to complete the required tasks.
  6. Enforce an effective control environment around the entire billing-related processes.
  7. Serve as the escalation point for critical issues and manage through to resolution.
  8. Ensure the volume of work produced meets product/service standards and exceeds quality standards and is properly reviewed and documented.
  9. Own the ‘charging database’ and play a key role in utilising it to identify revenue leakage opportunities, and to prevent leakage in the future.
  10. Oversee invoice calculation and generation to ensure correct and timely preparation.

What you\’ll need to succeed

  1. Proven experience of Billing in Financial Services
  2. Experience in Finance Operations processes
  3. Strong controls and process experience
  4. Ability to demonstrate strong stakeholder management
  5. Advanced Excel knowledge
  6. Experience of managing an offshore team is preferable.
