My client is a leading multidisciplinary consultancy delivering major infrastructure, energy, environmental, and development projects across the UK and Ireland. As part of their growing Environment, Sustainability & Planning team, you will join a global organisation committed to technical excellence, innovation, and sustainable development, with a strong focus on supporting career progression and professional growth.

As a senior member of the Environmental Planning team, you will provide technical, commercial, and leadership expertise across a diverse portfolio of projects spanning transport, water, energy, renewables, defence, residential, commercial, and minerals sectors. You will play a key role in delivering complex Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and consenting projects, influencing project strategy, and supporting the growth of both the team and client relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading environmental planning projects from inception through to delivery
  • Managing budgets, programmes, resources, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Directing and coordinating EIA and environmental assessment activities
  • Identifying environmental risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies
  • Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members
  • Leading and contributing to bids, frameworks, and business development activities
  • Producing and reviewing high-quality technical reports and ensuring regulatory compliance

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, Economics, or a related discipline
  • Significant experience leading EIA projects within a consultancy environment
  • Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership skills
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent technical reporting and communication skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience supporting business development
  • Experience in socio-economic assessment would be advantageous but is not essential
