Your new company Hays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with an extremely welcoming and open mainstream primary school in Winsford as they are looking to appoint an experienced and reliable teaching assistant for a long-term full-time contract, initially on a temporary basis with the aim of a permanent appointment for the right individual. This is an extremely open school with minimal doors for classes.

As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be joining the KS1 cohort, playing an integral part in the education of a young female pupil. The pupil you will be supporting is an extremely outgoing and charismatic individual with a very loving personality but does at times struggle to access the curriculum as she can become dis-regulated and easily distracted, which can then encourage other pupils across the class. You will encourage their learning by implementing a myriad of positive behaviour strategies, picking up on signs that behaviours may be escalating and using distraction techniques to retain focus.

Other duties will include:

  • Planning and implementing 1:1 interventions in core subjects
  • Phonics assessments
  • Direct liaison with SENCO and head teacher on pupil progress
  • Supporting during break and lunch times

What you’ll need to succeed

To be considered in your application, you must have full 'Right to Work' in the UK, a minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years, and:

  • Have strong skills in behaviour management
  • Good knowledge of the KS1 national curriculum
  • An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential

What you’ll get in return

If you are successful in your application, you will receive the full support, dedication and guidance of a senior DfE accredited recruitment consultant, as well as a wide range of amazing benefits, that include:

  • Free training
  • Upfront cost of DBS covered
  • Long-term contract
  • Possible permanent contract
  • Highly competitive rate of pay
  • Full holiday entitlement
  • Company pension scheme
  • Access to exclusive vacancies
  • Refer a Friend scheme
