We are seeking an experienced Multi Skilled Joiner to join our growing team, working on a prestigious local council contract. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects in one of London's most iconic boroughs, delivering high-quality workmanship and outstanding service.
As part of the team, you will play a key role in creating a safe, compliant, and efficient environment through the inspection, maintenance, and installation of fire doors and general joinery works.
Your new role
- Undertake a range of joinery tasks including fire door inspections, remedial works, and installation of new door sets
- Carry out work in line with NFPA 80 standards for fire door compliance
- Deliver all works efficiently and to a high standard
- Maintain the highest levels of health & safety, including point-of-work risk assessments
- Liaise with site teams and helpdesk to provide updates and ensure efficient job completion
- Complete detailed reports and maintain accurate documentation via PDA/CAFM systems
- Work independently or collaboratively within a team environment
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents and stakeholders
- Maintain accurate time and progress reporting
What you'll need to succeed
- Essential Criteria
- Minimum 2 years' experience in joinery within construction or maintenance
- Full UK driving licence
- FDIS/QFDT certification (or equivalent fire door qualification)
- Strong knowledge of fire door systems, materials, and compliance standards
- Proven experience in inspection, reporting, and defect identification
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
Desirable Skills
- Solid carpentry and joinery expertise
- Experience in door installation, repair, and maintenance
- Ability to work with flooring, partitions, and structural elements
- Competent with hand and power tools
- Basic plumbing and electrical awareness
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- CSCS card and relevant health & safety training
- Additional certifications such as MEWP, manual handling, or confined space
