Management Accountant - Not-for-profit sector - £42-£53k + benefits package - Near Chelmsford
Your new company: A fantastic opportunity to join this established and renowned not-for-profit organisation within the education sector located near Chelmsford, Essex.
Reporting to the Head of Finance and working as part of an expanding and collaborative team, key responsibilities will include:
- Prepare monthly management accounts including profit/loss, balance sheets and cash-flow reporting, plus variance analysis and financial performance commentary
- Prepare and review budgets, forecasts and long-term financial planning
- Provide detailed financial insights into ongoing initiatives including capital projects
- Play a pivotal role in finance systems and reporting developments and improvements
- Business partner with budget holders across the organisation to monitor performance, control costs and support efficiencies
- Support with year-end processes, audit preparation and financial governance
- Support with capital project and business case evaluation
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and organisation policies
- Provide cover and support across the finance function where required
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Finance department
The successful candidate will be fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or have equivalent professional experience as a Management Accountant. A proven track record of producing monthly management accounts and budgets and forecasts within a complex environment will be pivotal, as will possessing strong analytical skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues. Excellent systems and Excel skills will be key, alongside the ability to review and make systems and process improvements.
This role is being offered on a full-time permanent basis with a salary bracket of £41,500 - £53,500 (dependent on experience/qualification) with free on-site parking and excellent public transport links. Competitive benefits package includes access to excellent sports/gym facilities, free lunches, first-rate on-site office facilities and environment and generous holiday allowance. Please note this role is a predominately on-site office-based role.
