In this Tax Director role, you will shape the growth and direction of the firm’s tax offering within a progressive, partner-led advisory practice in South Manchester. You’ll lead a strategic, advisory-focused tax function and act as a trusted advisor to key clients, driving revenue expansion and market positioning. You will harness cross-functional collaboration to unlock new services and markets, while building a high-performing tax team. Responsibilities
- Set and execute the strategic direction of the tax offering in line with growth objectives
- Lead evolution from compliance-led to advisory-driven tax services
- Act as trusted strategic advisor delivering high-value tax planning and structuring
- Identify and unlock new revenue streams via cross-selling and new markets/service lines
- Lead business development, networking, client acquisition, and brand positioning
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing tax team aligned to growth
- Collaborate with Partners to shape overall firm strategy and long-term vision
- Ensure governance, risk management, and technical excellence across tax services
Key requirements
- CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification
- Significant experience at Director level with strategic decision-making
- Strong technical expertise across corporate and/or private client tax with advisory focus
- Track record of driving growth, winning work, and developing long-term client relationships
- Experience shaping or transforming a tax function or service line
- Strong leadership capability and ability to develop teams
- Commercial mindset with ability to identify and act on strategic opportunities
