A client-side construction project manager opportunity in the public sector. An ambitious public-sector organisation is seeking a project manager who can support the delivery of a large and complex mixed-use regeneration and enhancement scheme spanning commercial, regeneration, and mixed-use developments. This interim role will play a key part in ensuring projects are successfully taken through design, procurement, construction, and handover, working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and development partners. Part-time work is welcomed (3 days per week), with flexibility for some home working alongside regular site attendance.
Your new role includes:
- Acting as a client-side project lead for a portfolio of capital and regeneration schemes as well as town and city centre regeneration projects.
- Managing projects from feasibility and design through to construction and completion, including delivery of projects on-site.
- Appointing and managing external consultants and contractor teams.
- Overseeing project costs, programme, risk, quality, and compliance across live schemes.
- Ensuring that delivery aligns with governance, funding conditions, and wider organisation objectives.
- Managing stakeholder engagement, including internal services and external partners.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous experience managing medium to large-scale commercial, regeneration, and mixed-use developments.
- Client-side project management working through RIBA stages.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary consultant and contractor teams.
- Excellent understanding of construction contracts, cost control, and programme management.
What you'll get in return:
You will be able to take advantage of a contract with a duration of up to nine months, offering longevity and initial security in your role. In addition, you'll receive a rate, paid to you on a daily basis of up to £450 per day.
