Hays is working with a Top 4 firm in Cambridge that is looking to appoint a Corporate Tax Manager following continued growth and internal promotions within the team. This is an excellent opportunity for an established Manager who wants the quality and variety of work associated with a leading firm, while benefiting from an exceptionally flexible working pattern, currently requiring just one day a week in the Cambridge office.
Strong corporate tax compliance experience combined with the ambition to broaden your advisory exposure would work particularly well.
To be successful, you will:
- Be an established Corporate Tax Manager with strong UK corporate tax experience
- Hold ACA and/or CTA qualifications
- Have strong technical corporate tax knowledge
- Be confident managing a portfolio and balancing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Have advisory experience, or a genuine interest in developing this alongside your compliance expertise
Candidates who have moved into an in-house tax role and are interested in returning to practice will also be considered, provided they have a strong existing UK tax background. For candidates with overseas experience, approximately three years or more of UK tax experience is likely to be required.
The Cambridge team is currently working in the office just one day per week, with the remaining four days available to work remotely, although additional office attendance may occasionally be required for business needs and the firm's wider hybrid policy could apply in future.
Alongside the flexibility, there is a clear longer-term progression route towards Senior Manager, supported by increasing exposure to advisory work, larger clients and the wider regional practice.
What you'll get in return:
This is a strong opportunity if you're looking for the combination of Top 4 experience, a varied client base, increasing advisory exposure, genuine career progression and significant homeworking flexibility.
