Your new role

As a CAD Designer, you will play a key role in delivering creative and commercially viable packaging solutions from initial concept through to production. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will respond to customer briefs with innovative designs that meet technical, environmental and manufacturing requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing high-quality structural packaging designs and technical drawings
  • Developing innovative carton solutions in response to customer briefs
  • Creating prototypes and visual concepts for customer presentation
  • Collaborating with internal teams including Sales, Pre-press and Production to bring designs to market
  • Producing multi-up layouts for costing and tooling requirements
  • Researching new materials, trends and technologies to enhance design output
  • Supporting the development of future opportunities and project pipelines
  • Ensuring all documentation and design outputs are completed accurately and on time

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in a relevant design or engineering discipline
  • Proven experience in packaging or carton design (ideally within the folding carton industry)
  • Strong CAD capability, ideally using ArtiosCAD or similar packaging software
  • Experience working to design briefs within tight deadlines and budget constraints
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating creative and technical design ability
  • Experience with sample prototyping and technical presentations

You will also demonstrate:

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with customers and internal teams
  • A proactive and innovative mindset
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing customer requirements
  • A strong interest in sustainable design and packaging solutions
