Hays is partnering with a community services organisation in Ballymena to recruit a Business Support Officer on a temporary basis.

Your new role

  • Provide administrative and front-of-house support, adhering to organisational policies and digital systems.
  • Manage financial records, including processing invoices, purchase orders, petty cash, online payments, and P cards.
  • Coordinate business meetings, including planning, venue setup, agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions.
  • Respond to written, verbal, and electronic correspondence promptly and courteously.
  • Conduct desktop research to assist with reports or correspondence preparation.
  • Produce presentations, written, and financial reports aligned with organisational standards.
  • Maintain and enhance management information systems to ensure accurate data tracking and reporting.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and compliance with organisational and regulatory standards.
  • Support and contribute to financial reporting, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum of Business Administration S/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent relevant qualification or work experience.
  • Demonstrable interest and experience of using computers through a business network running MS Windows and Office applications, email and the Internet.
  • Confident and effective with both written and verbal communication, including to prepare and present reports.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage work.
  • Confidence in figures and applying literacy skills to communicate effectively with a range of individuals/teams.
  • Experience of working within a team environment, demonstrating tact and diplomacy with other members of staff and where necessary to direct and guide.
  • Ability to liaise with senior external stakeholders to co-ordinate key activities.
