Your new role
The Business Design Specialist (Architecture) is a key role within the Technology department, focused on delivering effective change through expert solutions architecture and technical design. The specialist will work in a multi-disciplinary team alongside analysts and testers to ensure unified business design. They will be responsible for leading complex solution designs, promoting innovation, supporting Agile delivery, and driving architectural standards across product portfolios. The role demands strong leadership, analytical skills, and a knowledge of wealth management.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support solution and technical design activities across the product portfolio, fostering team alignment and delivery excellence.
- Drive a high-performance culture in architecture and design, promoting innovation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with design specialists to deliver unified, end-to-end product change solutions.
- Identify and implement opportunities for synergy, efficiency, and innovation through deep portfolio knowledge.
- Establish and evolve Communities of Practice focused on architecture standards, tooling, and ways of working.
- Champion Agile principles to accelerate delivery pace and ensure alignment with the strategic vision for IT.
What you'll need to succeed

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.

- Deep understanding of wealth management products, services, and regulatory requirements.
- Experienced in Agile methodologies and environments.
- TOGAF certified or equivalent architectural expertise.
- Advanced business analysis skills for generating complete and consistent requirements and business cases for IT Change.
- Track record of producing high-quality technical design, requirements, and test documentation.
What you'll get in return
You can expect a salary in the region of £60,000 to £70,000 (depending on experience), along with benefits such as pension, private medical, death in service, 25 days holiday (rising to 30) and hybrid working (2 to 3 days in the office).
