Overview
In this Tax Manager role, you’ll oversee a portfolio of clients, delivering strategic tax guidance and ensuring compliant delivery. You will partner with Partners and Directors to act as a trusted adviser and help grow the firm’s tax capability. You’ll lead complex returns and proactive planning across personal, partnership, and corporate tax, while mentoring junior staff. This position offers exposure to business restructures, succession planning, and high-end advisory work in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage a diverse client portfolio across sectors
- Review complex personal, partnership, and corporate tax returns
- Provide proactive tax planning and remuneration advice for business owners
- Support restructures, share reorganisations, and succession planning
- Advise on capital gains, inheritance, and property-related taxes
- Manage HMRC enquiries and disclosures
- Develop junior team members and lead client meetings
- Collaborate with Partners on specialist assignments and business development
- Monitor tax law changes to ensure timely client advice
Key requirements
- CTA qualified, or ACA/ACCA qualified with significant tax experience
- Strong background in an accountancy practice
- Excellent knowledge of UK personal and corporate taxation
- Experience managing client portfolios
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Commercially minded with ability to spot client opportunities
