Overview
In this client-side role you deliver high-value capital projects across the organisation’s estate, from inception to completion. You will oversee a portfolio of strategically important schemes and report to senior leadership on progress and governance. You’ll work with cross-functional teams, external consultants, and procurement teams to ensure projects meet time, budget, and objectives. The role offers scope to influence campus and infrastructure development, sustainability initiatives, and overall estate strategy. This is an opportunity to take broader programme responsibility within a growing capital investment programme.
Responsibilities
- Develop project strategies and delivery plans
- Lead project teams and external consultants
- Manage procurement and tender processes
- Oversee programme budgets and reporting
- Governance and risk management activities
- Present to senior leadership teams and project boards
- Ensure timely delivery within budget and objectives
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes
Key requirements
- Degree-qualified in Construction, Surveying, Engineering or Project Management
- Proven experience delivering major capital projects
- Strong client-side project management experience
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of construction procurement routes and contract administration
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
- Strong commercial, financial and governance experience
- Experience in Higher Education, Local Government, Healthcare, or similar estates environments (desirable)
- Chartered status or working towards chartership (desirable)
