In this Senior Client Manager role, you oversee client relationships and lead a team within an established independent practice. You will manage a diverse SME client portfolio, ensuring high-quality accounting and tax services while developing junior staff. You will work closely with senior leadership to drive delivery, workflow, and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of SME clients, sole traders, partnerships, LLPs and companies
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Liaise with clients on accounting, taxation and business matters
- Supervise and review the work of a team of accountants
- Prepare and review statutory accounts from incomplete and computerised records
- Prepare and review company and personal tax returns
- Conduct client meetings and visits as needed
- Support workflow management and ensure deadlines are met
- Assist with ad hoc projects and business initiatives
Key requirements
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum of 15 years' UK accountancy practice experience
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing accounts for diverse entities
- Proven people management and staff supervision experience
- Excellent technical knowledge of accounts and taxation
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Experience using accounting software such as CCH, Sage and Xero
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
