Your new company: You will be joining an industry-leading Tier 1 contractor renowned for delivering major and complex infrastructure projects across the UK. As part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Birmingham. This is a dynamic role offering exposure to the major HS2 project where your commercial acumen will directly impact project success. This is a full-time permanent position with hybrid and flexible working.
Your new role: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of complex civil engineering packages across the HS2 programme in Birmingham. You will work closely with project teams to ensure robust cost control, accurate forecasting and effective subcontractor management. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing commercial and contractual aspects of allocated work packages
- Preparing valuations, cost reports and forecasting data
- Supporting NEC contract administration, compensation events and change management
- Ensuring accurate measurement and quantification of works
- Conducting cost analysis to optimise value and drive commercial performance
- Building strong relationships with internal delivery teams, suppliers and subcontractors
- Contributing to continuous improvement and best‑practice commercial processes

What you'll need to succeed: To excel in this role, you will bring:
- Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar qualification) or experience equivalent

- Sound understanding of NEC contracts and commercial procedures
- Excellent analytical, negotiation and reporting skills
- Confidence in engaging with a range of stakeholders and influencing commercial outcomes
- Full UK driving licence.
