As a Pastoral Officer, you will be the heartbeat of the school's behaviour and wellbeing provision. Working closely with Heads of Year, safeguarding leads, teaching staff, and parents, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day pastoral support for students across the school.
  • Monitor behaviour, attendance, punctuality, and engagement trends.
  • Lead restorative meetings, support behaviour interventions, and promote positive conduct.
  • Build strong relationships with students and families, ensuring early identification of pastoral or safeguarding concerns.
  • Support year-group assemblies, inclusion strategies, and tailored wellbeing plans.
  • Maintain accurate reports, logs, and student records, ensuring high-quality communication and follow-through.

This is a full-time, temporary position, working Monday to Friday. ECTs with strong pastoral strengths are warmly encouraged to apply.

To excel in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience in a pastoral, behaviour, mentoring, or safeguarding capacity (school-based or youth-work backgrounds considered).
  • A calm, resilient, and empathetic mindset with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
  • Strong behaviour-management skills and the ability to de-escalate situations confidently and professionally.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust with students, colleagues, and families.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and experience working within a multi-agency framework (desirable).
