You’ll be joining a busy, fast-paced operational service that supports maintenance teams by ensuring materials, tools and equipment are delivered safely, accurately and on time. The service relies on efficient stores operations and reliable drivers to keep repairs running smoothly and to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
As a Stores Person / Driver Labourer, you will play a key part in keeping works running effectively over an 8-week period. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collecting, transporting and delivering materials to and from various sites
- Supporting day-to-day stores operations
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks
- Safely loading/unloading materials
- Maintaining accurate stock records using mobile devices
- Representing the organisation professionally when attending properties or working on estates
What you’ll need to succeed:
- A full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months (minimum age 21)
- Manual handling training or confidence in safe lifting and handling
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Good customer service skills and confidence acting as the first point of contact
- Ability to prioritise workload, manage competing demands and work under pressure
- Basic digital skills to use mobile devices and scheduling systems
- Aware of Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices
Desirable:
- Stock control or inventory experience
- Knowledge of materials used in maintenance or construction
- Forklift licences (Counterbalance or Reach)
