Your new school is a large secondary school with academy status located in central Blackburn. The school is coeducational and caters for pupils aged 11-16. The school has consistently been graded as good in all areas by OFSTED and has established an excellent reputation in the local community. There is an extremely supportive senior leadership team throughout the school with a clear vision towards achieving outstanding. In addition, the school offers state of the art facilities and has excellent transport links.
Joining a high achieving department, you will be responsible for teaching Geography to KS4. The role is to commence from February Half Term and will operate full time on a temporary basis for a minimum of one half term. As the role is long term, you will be required to plan and prepare all lessons whilst differentiating in pupil ability. You will also be required to mark and assess all work ensuring that pupils are progressing in line with their target grades.
To be successful in securing this position, it is essential that you hold a teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS or PGCE and have experience of teaching Geography to KS4. You must be able to commence the role from February half term and be able to commit to the full duration of the assignment.
In return, you will be paid a competitive daily rate and will gain experience working within a successful department. In addition to the support from the department, you will also be supported by a dedicated HAYS consultant who will assist with any queries. You will also join our Hays Refer a Friend Scheme, where you could be entitled to receive £250 in high street vouchers.
