Your new company is a long-established, family-run firm in the Black Country seeking to recruit a Tax Senior to join their team. Having delivered high-quality tax and accountancy services for many years, you'll benefit from a varied role and will become part of a friendly, supportive and committed team. You'll work with a wide range of clients across different industries, giving you the chance to broaden your experience in a collaborative and welcoming environment.
Your new role involves managing your own portfolio of clients and handling a broad mix of tax compliance and advisory work. You will prepare and submit personal tax returns, trust returns, R185s, residential property returns and P11Ds, while also responding to queries across personal tax, P11Ds, IHT and general tax planning. You will provide advisory support and calculations, including PAYE, NIC and comparisons between limited company and personal tax positions. Your role will also involve residency-related work such as advising on the Statutory Residence Test and preparing Certificates of Residence. You will use your excellent communication skills to liaise directly with individuals, trustees and companies, building long-lasting client relationships.
What you'll need to succeed:
- At least two years' experience in a tax role within practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of personal tax compliance.
- Confidence in preparing the full range of returns listed and managing your own client portfolio.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Experience with trusts and accounts preparation would be beneficial.
- Relevant accountancy and/or tax qualifications would be advantageous, but experience will be key.
