A large localernment organisation is seeking an experienced Interim Leadpliance Officer to join its Resourcing and People Services team on an initial 3-month contract.
This is a key role responsible for leading and overseeing all recruitmentpliance activity, ensuring the organisation remains fullypliant with employment legislation, immigration requirements, safeguarding standards and internal employment policies. You will act as the subject-matter expert for recruitmentpliance processes, providing leadership, assurance and guidance across the recruitment life cycle.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage recruitmentpliance activity across the organisation.
  • Ensure fullpliance with Right to Work legislation and maintain robust audit trails for all employees and workers.
  • Oversee visa sponsorship processes, including Certificates of Sponsorship, Skilled Worker visa requirements and immigration monitoring.
  • Manage and quality assure pre-employment screening processes, including DBS checks, reference checks and qualification verification.
  • Provide expert advice to hiring managers, HR teams and senior stakeholders on employmentpliance requirements.
  • Monitorpliance data, reporting and performance metrics to identify risks and drive improvements.
  • Review and enhance recruitmentpliance procedures, controls andernance arrangements.
  • Lead on internal and external audits relating to recruitment and employmentpliance.
  • Ensurepliance with relevant legislation, including UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requirements, safeguarding regulations and employment law.
  • Support the development and delivery of training and guidance materials for managers and recruiters.
  • About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Significant experience in recruitment, resourcing or HRpliance within a large andplex organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of Right to Work legislation, UK immigration requirements and sponsorship processes.
  • Experience managing pre-employment checks, including DBS and safeguarding requirements.
  • A track record of leadingpliance reviews, audits and process improvements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and advise at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to monitorpliance and identify risks.
  • Previous experience working within localernment, public sector or similarly regulated environments is highly desirable.
