Overview
As MEP Project Lead Engineer you drive the delivery of complex rail and transport projects within a multidisciplinary Building Engineering team. You provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, coordinating resources and managing stakeholder relationships. You’ll shape design, assurance and compliance for rail and transport schemes while mentoring engineers. This role offers exposure to major infrastructure programs and the chance to influence transportation capability within a globally respected consultancy.

Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary design teams through the full project lifecycle
- Manage delivery of MEP engineering packages on major transport projects
- Oversee design assurance and compliance with rail/transport standards
- Act as technical advisor on electrical engineering matters
- Coordinate project programmes, resources and design deliverables
- Engage with clients, contractors and external stakeholders
- Support bids and client relationship management
- Identify and mitigate project risks while safeguarding schedule, quality and budget
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and team development
- Help shape the future direction of transportation and rail engineering capability
Key requirements
- Chartered Engineer status (Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent
- Strong multidisciplinary MEP design experience in a consultancy
- Proven delivery of transportation, rail or infrastructure projects
- Solid understanding of rail design standards, assurance and compliance
- Experience leading engineering teams through design and construction
- Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing skills
- Ability to coordinate complex project teams and manage competing priorities
- Experience supporting bids, tenders and business development
- Collaborative leadership style with a focus on developing others
