We are seeking an experienced Drama Specialist to join a school in Birmingham on a full-time basis. This is an immediate start role covering Drama lessons and providing general cover for PSHE and other classes. The successful candidate will plan and assess Drama lessons; cover work will be provided for other lessons.

Role Summary

  • Position: Drama Specialist
  • Location: Birmingham
  • Contract: Full time, 5 days per week
  • Hours: 08:25 - 15:30
  • Start: ASAP, with potential to continue beyond the initial cover period

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and assess high-quality Drama lessons that engage and challenge students.
  • Provide classroom cover for PSHE and other subjects using supplied cover materials.
  • Maintain excellent classroom management and promote positive behaviour and learning.
  • Contribute to departmental planning and support student progress and wellbeing.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, including safeguarding and health and safety.

Person Specification

  • Qualified teacher with proven experience teaching Drama at secondary level.
  • Strong track record of planning and assessing Drama curriculum and delivering practical, creative lessons.
  • Excellent behaviour management and classroom organisation skills.
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training.
  • Flexible, reliable and able to work effectively across different year groups.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
