We are urgently looking for an experienced locum Substance Misuse/Dual Diagnosis (Mental Health) to join our client's team in West Midlands. If you are interested, please read the details below:
- Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week)
- Dates: ASAP 6 months (Temporary Contract, will be reviewed after 6 months)
- Pay Rate: depending on the experience, between £29 to £34/hr (PAYE) umbrella options are also available.
Your new role:
- Undertake mental health assessments for service users who present with co-existing mental health and substance misuse problems.
- Review service users presenting to services and undertake specialist mental health assessments as required.
- Case management.
- To undertake Nurse Alcohol Assessments and determine safe detoxification.
- Assist in the titration process for opiate service users.
- To provide screening for BBV, through dry blood spot testing.
- Offer wound care assessment and basic wound dressing to service users.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Current NMC registration as RMN (Mental Health Nurse).
- Previous experience of working in substance misuse and mental health settings.
- Experience of working with people with co-morbid mental health and substance misuse problems.
- Experience of managing a caseload of clients with complex needs.
- Knowledge of and skills in appropriate therapeutic interventions for working with people with dual diagnosis.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
