About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a skilled Plumber to join the Estates and Facilities team within a well-established public sector university in Belfast. This role offers the opportunity to work across a varied campus environment, supporting the maintenance and operation of teaching, research, and residential facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality plumbing services to ensure the safety, functionality, and compliance of all water systems across the estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive plumbing repairs
  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems including pipework, fixtures, and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and safely
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and relevant standards
  • Support minor works and refurbishment projects across campus
  • Participate in an on-call rota to provide emergency out-of-hours cover
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed

Essential Criteria

  • NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing (or equivalent qualification)
  • Proven experience working in a plumbing role within a commercial, industrial, or public sector setting
  • Full, valid UK driving licence
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working in a large or complex estate such as a university, hospital, or public sector environment
  • Knowledge of water regulations and compliance standards
  • Experience with heating systems or general building maintenance
