About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a skilled Plumber to join the Estates and Facilities team within a well-established public sector university in Belfast. This role offers the opportunity to work across a varied campus environment, supporting the maintenance and operation of teaching, research, and residential facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality plumbing services to ensure the safety, functionality, and compliance of all water systems across the estate.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive plumbing repairs
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems including pipework, fixtures, and associated equipment.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and safely
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and relevant standards
- Support minor works and refurbishment projects across campus
- Participate in an on-call rota to provide emergency out-of-hours cover
- Maintain accurate records of work completed
Essential Criteria
- NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing (or equivalent qualification)
- Proven experience working in a plumbing role within a commercial, industrial, or public sector setting
- Full, valid UK driving licence
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in a large or complex estate such as a university, hospital, or public sector environment
- Knowledge of water regulations and compliance standards
- Experience with heating systems or general building maintenance
