Your new role
As a Temporary Finance Programme Officer, you will support the financial assessment, delivery, and monitoring of funded projects from application through to closure. Key duties include:
- Assessing project applications with a strong focus on financial analysis, risk, and value for money.
- Producing clear reports and funding recommendations for decision-making committees.
- Monitoring a portfolio of projects, ensuring financial compliance and delivery of outputs.
- Maintaining robust financial controls, audit compliance, and governance processes.
- Verifying expenditure and tracking project progress against agreed objectives.
- Acting as a key contact for stakeholders, providing financial guidance - (finance business partnering).
- Preparing reports, briefings, and contributing to programme improvements.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Experience working with and analysing financial data.
- Strong reporting skills and ability to produce financial assessments.
- Knowledge of financial controls, governance, and compliance.
- Experience in project/programme monitoring.
- Strong Excel/database skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable:
- Third-level qualification.
- Experience in funding, grants, or public sector programmes.
- Project management and finance background.
