Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a Registered Charity in Northern Ireland, to recruit a Facilities Officer on a permanent basis. The organisation provides services for a diverse range of users in a residential setting.
Your new role
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for the management, safety, and compliance of the organisation's physical environment, ensuring facilities are functional, compliant, and fit for purpose. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Facilities Operations and Maintenance
- Health and Safety (Facilities Focused)
- Emergency and Building Safety Management
- Facilities Project Management
- Contractor and Vendor Management
- Budget and Financial Management
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you must possess:
- An HND or Foundation Degree in Facilities Management / Building Services, Construction or a Level 5 Diploma or equivalent in Facilities Management or similar.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in managing maintenance services.
- Experience of managing multiple projects and priorities.
- Experience in line managing a maintenance team, the allocation of jobs and contractor management.
- The ability to produce board reports, business cases and presentations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and facility management software.
- Experience in delivering contractor safety briefings and ensuring ongoing compliance throughout projects.
- The ability to develop contingency plans for critical facilities risks such as heating, electrical systems, and structural safety concerns.
