An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Testing & Inspection Engineer to join their Northern Ireland team.
Reporting directly to the Contract Manager, you will undertake electrical inspection, testing, condition reporting, minor works, refurbishment projects, planned maintenance, and defect repairs across a broad customer portfolio throughout Northern Ireland.

The Role
As an Electrical Testing & Inspection Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out inspection and testing activities on commercial and industrial electrical installations, identifying defects, producing condition reports, supporting minor installation works, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with current regulations.
You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of service delivery while ensuring compliance with IET Wiring Regulations and company health and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) on commercial and industrial installations.
- Undertake inspection, testing, fault-finding, defect diagnosis, and remedial works.
- Complete testing and inspection of new installations, refurbishment projects, and minor works.
- Participate as part of a team on large-scale electrical projects or work independently on smaller contracts.
- Ensure all work is delivered in accordance with agreed project timescales and client requirements.
- Produce accurate certification, inspection reports, and associated documentation in a timely manner.
- Identify non-compliant installations and recommend appropriate remedial actions.
- Support electrical engineers and project teams in developing practical and cost-effective solutions.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers where specialist technical support is required.
- Represent the company professionally during client meetings, site visits, and interactions with stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current IET Wiring Regulations and industry best practice.
- Carry out point-of-work risk assessments and ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
- Ensure all works are completed to the highest quality and safety standards.
Essential Criteria
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess
- City & Guilds Level 3 2357 qualification or equivalent electrical apprenticeship.
- City & Guilds 2394/ ) Inspection & Testing qualification.
- AM2 Qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an Electrical Testing & Inspection role, specifically undertaking condition reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of current IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- Proven experience working on commercial and industrial electrical installations.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Normal colour vision.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Strong administrative and reporting skills with experience producing EICRs and certification.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively across multiple sites.
Desirable Criteria
The following qualifications and experience would be advantageous
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671, Amendment 2).
- City & Guilds 2377 - Electrical Equipment Maintenance and Testing.
- Valid CSCS/CSR Card or equivalent competency card.
- Experience in planned and reactive maintenance environments.
- High Voltage Awareness Training.
- Confined Space Training.
- IPAF Licence.
- Experience working within Facilities Management environments.
