Hays Belfast are recruiting for a Belfast based contractor who is looking to recruit a Construction Planner for their business.
Your new company specialises in construction and fit out of Commercial, Residential, Education, and Health schemes to name a few.
Having been an established brand in the industry for many years, this company is seeking growth opportunities and has identified the need for a full time Planner to join as they gain market share.
Joining this business as the Planner, you will be working on multiple projects and reporting directly to the MD, working closely with the heads of each division as they look to complete schemes on time and on budget with solid programming in place.
You'll find yourself working alongside members of your team on some exciting projects along the way, helping to create worthwhile spaces for the professionals who call that space home.
Your new role
Reporting to Managing Director, your new role will support the company by identifying, controlling and forecasting timescales and resource requirements whilst implementing best practice project planning policy, processes and procedures during the full life cycle of projects from tender through to completion.
You will be responsible for accurately identifying and resourcing requirements for projects including labour, plant and materials.
You will provide support for all construction planning functions, ensuring that issues or irregularities within the programme are highlighted and understood by all.
Some duties will include
- Attending site visits to assist the team with the planning function.
- Work with the Project Team to convert bid programmes to delivery programmes for new projects.
- Work with the Project Team to complete detailed design and procurement programmes and information release schedules.
- Liaise with the Project Directors, Project Managers and Site Managers on a continuous basis regarding progress.
- Monitor critical activities of the project programme, advising the project team on areas of concern and improvements.
- Report progress internally to the Contracts teams and externally to Clients, making comparisons between planned and actual progress.
- Work with the Project team to develop realistic action plans to recover any slippage.
- Assist with the development of monthly progress reports.
- What you'll need to succeed
Experience of working in a similar planning role with knowledge of using Microsoft Project, Asta or even P6 Primavera will be considered.
This is a permanent vacancy with one of the larger construction contractors who have placed a very high importance on this role, where the successful individual will work within a strong and knowledgeable team.
Previous experience of working in a construction planning role will be required.
You must be eligible to work in the UK.
