Hays are delighted to be working with a local CF advisory firm in Belfast. We are looking for a commercially driven and technically strong Associate Director to join our clients' Deals Tax team within the Deals Advisory - Corporate Finance practice. This is a senior leadership role focused on delivering strategic tax advice on complex transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, restructurings, and refinancing.
You will lead client engagements, manage cross-functional teams, and play a key role in business development and thought leadership within the deals tax space.
What you'll need to succeed
- Essentials:
- ACA, CTA, or equivalent qualification.
- Significant experience in UK corporate tax with a strong focus on M&A or transaction tax.
- Proven track record of leading complex tax advisory projects in a deals' environment.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to communicate complex tax issues to non-tax stakeholders.
- Experience managing client relationships and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Exposure to international tax structuring, private equity, or infrastructure deals.
- Experience working in a Big 4, mid-tier advisory firm, or in-house M&A tax team.
- Familiarity with financial modelling and tax implications of SPAs, debt instruments, and cross-border structuring.
