Are you passionate about helping young people succeed? Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Huddersfield to recruit a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to support students who may require additional guidance, encouragement and behavioural support to achieve their full potential.

The role will involve:

  • Providing 1:1 support to students with behavioural, social or emotional needs
  • Delivering small group interventions aimed at improving engagement and confidence
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with students
  • Supporting teachers in managing behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Encouraging student participation, independence and personal development
  • Working closely with pastoral staff, SEN teams and teaching colleagues

What we're looking for:

  • Experience working with young people in a school, youth work, mentoring, coaching or similar setting
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Confidence working with students who may display challenging behaviour
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for helping young people achieve success
