A well-established and growing organisation based in Inverness is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Analyst to join its finance team. Operating across multiple locations, the business prides itself on delivering high levels of operational excellence and is continuing to invest in systems, controls and process improvements to support future growth.

Reporting to the Stock Control Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of stock-related financial transactions and inventory processes across the business. Working closely with finance, operations and site-based teams, you will support the effective management of both wet and dry stock operations while helping to drive continuous improvement. This is a varied and analytical position that combines stock accounting, reconciliation, reporting and stakeholder engagement.

You will be responsible for ensuring stock controls are robust, month-end processes are completed accurately and opportunities for process improvement are identified and implemented across multiple sites. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Invoice matching and reconciliation
  • Maintaining accurate stock records
  • Supporting stock valuations and month-end reporting
  • Investigating discrepancies
  • Improving stock management procedures
  • Working collaboratively with operational teams to enhance compliance and reporting standards

The role will also involve occasional travel to depots and operational sites across the region to support stock reviews, training and improvement projects.

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in stock control, inventory management, stock accounting or a similar analytical finance role. You will possess strong reconciliation skills, excellent numerical accuracy and a methodical approach to problem-solving. You will be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable analysing large volumes of data to identify trends, discrepancies and opportunities for improvement. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will work closely with colleagues across finance and operations to improve processes and maintain high standards of control. Experience within fuel, retail, logistics, distribution or multi-site environments would be advantageous, as would exposure to inventory management systems and stock reporting processes.

In return, you will join a supportive and forward-thinking organisation offering a competitive salary and benefits package, ongoing training and professional development, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful business improvement projects. You will play a visible role within the finance function and have the opportunity to influence processes and best practice across the wider business.
