Responsibilities

  • Draft Court of Protection applications and witness statements
  • Assist with OPG reporting requirements
  • Liaise with case managers and healthcare professionals
  • Advise on financial management, welfare, capacity, care funding and benefits matters
  • Manage own caseload with increasing autonomy
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members
  • Contribute to team development initiatives
  • Participate in business development activities

Key requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with Court of Protection experience
  • Experience managing Deputyship and/or Personal Injury Trust matters
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, families and professionals
  • Familiarity with OPG Deputyship Standards (desirable)
  • STEP qualifications or progress towards STEP accreditation (advantageous)
  • Excellent communication, drafting and organisational skills
