Based in South Essex, you will be joining a well-known manufacturing company which specialises in the design, manufacturing, build and installation of automated machinery working in several industries.

With a large order book and continuous projects for the next 3-6 years, this is an excellent time to join an ever-expanding business.

The business now has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding Design team.

Working alongside the mechanical & electrical design team as well as the projects team, the shop floor and more, you will be working on and exposed to several high value projects, overseeing the full design lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities & Duties: Collaborate with internal departments to design parts, assemblies, and equipment layouts Generate comprehensive manufacturing drawings and supporting mechanical documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), sub-assembly drawings, schematics, and schedules Update and maintain mechanical drawings and documentation for equipment upgrades or modifications Develop and enforce standards for drawing control, document management, and revision control within Autodesk Vault Work with members of other teams, including shop floor, build teams, projects and electrical teams.

Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Proven mechanical design experience within an industrial environment Proficiency with Autodesk Auto CAD (2D), Inventor (3D), and Autodesk Vault.

Experience with similar CAD systems (e. g., Solid Works) considered transferable.

Good knowledge of machining, sheet metal, and fabrication processes.
