A global manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Independent Accountant to join its UK finance team. This is a key role within a long-established international group, offering exposure to cross-border operations, modern systems and a collaborative, people-focused culture.

The position is based in Banbury, with 1-2 days per week on-site once settled, and includes occasional international travel to European sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial statements including balance sheet, income statement and cash flow
  • Manage the general ledger and record daily financial transactions
  • Perform reconciliations and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards
  • Act as the main contact for internal and external audits
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow monitoring
  • Analyse financial data to identify improvements and cost-saving opportunities
  • Provide reporting and insight to support management decision-making
About You
  • Degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar accounting role (manufacturing experience beneficial)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations and month-end processes
  • Confident in using accounting systems (SAP Business One experience is an advantage)
  • Excellent Excel and data-analysis skills
  • High attention to detail with a structured, accurate approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proactive problem-solver who can manage deadlines and work independently
  • Comfortable working in an international environment with occasional travel
  • Fluent Polish speaker, with a good level of English (written and spoken)
