Automation and Robotics Engineer - Ballymena - 4 Day Week - Highly Competitive Salary Package Your New Company A well-established, specialist manufacturing site in Ballymena. Your New Role Our client is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Automation or significant equivalent experience * Proven hands-on experience in industrial automation or robotics engineering within a manufacturing environment * Demonstrable experience programming and deploying collaborative robots (cobots) - e.g. Farino, Universal Robots (URScript/Polyscope), FANUC, KUKA, ABB, or similar * Strong understanding of PLC programming and industrial control systems * Solid knowledge of machine safety standards and CE/UKCA marking requirements. Experience conducting risk assessments and developing safe systems of work for automated machinery * Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent for basic mechanical/layout design * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret production data and translate into engineering solutions * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to present technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences * Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Desirable Familiarity with composite materials processing, CNC operations, or bonding and foaming processes * Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies, MES/SCADA systems, and IoT integration * Lean Six Sigma qualification (Green Belt or above) * Project management qualification (Prince2, APM, or equivalent) * Experience working with vision systems, conveyors, or automated dispensing equipment * Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) or digital twin simulation tools.
